illuminated growth

In my most recent project, “Illuminated Growth” (next page), I created two rectangular wooden lamps with removable inserts. Inspired by the Adon Japanese lamp design and botanical prints, I cultivated zinnias, marigolds, and nasturtium plants and documented their growth through scans. These scans were printed and layered within the lamp frame in order to portray the stages of lamp growth. With illumination and colored bulbs, one can see the plants reaching maturity.
